NXP Semiconductors MCXW72-LOC Localization Evaluation Board

NXP Semiconductors MCXW72-LOC Localization Board is an advanced evaluation platform for BLUETOOTH® Channel Sounding, secure ranging, and location-aware IoT applications. Based on the MCX W72 wireless MCU, the board includes two onboard PCB antennas and an RF switch supporting antenna switching and antenna diversity for more advanced ranging evaluation.

The MCX W72 integrates a Bluetooth Low Energy 6.x-class radio and an on-chip Localization Compute Engine that accelerates Bluetooth Channel Sounding calculations while reducing ranging latency and power consumption. The device also supports multiprotocol development with Bluetooth Low Energy, Zigbee®, Thread®, and Matter®. This board can be used with a wide range of development tools, including NXP MCUXpresso for Visual Studio Code extension and IAR Embedded Workbench.

The NXP Semiconductors MCXW72-LOC includes an onboard MCU-Link debugger, two high-speed CAN transceivers, 64Mbit QSPI NOR Flash memory, two optional SMA connector footprints, two mikroBUS™ sockets, and flexible power options. For a cost-effective starting point for general MCX W72 development and initial Channel Sounding evaluation, select the FRDM-MCXW72 development board with its integrated single-PCB-trace antenna. This board offers separate evaluation options, allowing developers to select the platform that fits the user's development needs.
