Mouser Electronics Adds 29 Embedded Franchises in One Year

Maggs continues: "IoT implementations, no matter what the end market, rely on a combination of continuous remote connectivity, big data, distributed intelligence and accurate data capture. This is driving the market in a number of ways, but common attributes often include secure communications, low power and accurate sensing. This is posing a challenge to traditional distributors as they need a very wide portfolio of technologies to address never-before-thought-of applications. What's more is that the people coming up with new ideas are often not traditional design engineers. Nurses are solving practical patient care challenges, retailers are seeing the advantages of new data analysis techniques, machine operators are feeding back process improvements to their management. This means that development approaches need to adapt and that component solutions are needed very quickly."

Over the last year, Mouser has added 30 new suppliers in the embedded space.
