Texas Instruments ISOTMP35/ISOTMP35-Q1 Isolated Temperature Sensor
Texas Instruments ISOTMP35/ISOTMP35-Q1 Isolated Temperature Sensor is designed with analog output and a fast thermal response of <2 seconds. This sensor combines a robust integrated isolation barrier offering 3000VRMS withstand isolation voltage and 500VRMS isolation working voltage. This integration enables the sensor to be co-located with high-voltage heat sources without requiring expensive isolation circuitry, providing greater accuracy and faster thermal response. The ISOTMP35/ISOTMP35-Q1 sensor operates from a non-isolated 2.3V to 5.5V supply voltage range and allows easy integration into applications where sub-regulated power is unavailable on the high-voltage plane. The ISOTMP35-Q1 temperature sensor is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications. Typical applications include SiC/IGBT PowerFET temperature monitoring, HEV/EV Battery Management System (BMS), HEV/EV On-Board Charger (OBC) and wireless charger, HEV/EV DC/DC converter, and powertrain temperature sensor. The ISOTMP35/ISOTMP35-Q1 temperature sensor's integrated isolation barrier satisfies UL 1577 requirements. This sensor is packed in a surface-mount package (7-pin SOIC) and provides excellent heat flow from the heat source to the embedded thermal sensor. This minimizes thermal mass, provides more accurate heat-source measurement, and improves system design margin by reducing mechanical variations due to manufacturing and assembly.
