Renesas Electronics RZ/G3L Quad Core MPUs
Renesas Electronics RZ/G3L Quad Core MPUs are entry-class HMI processors with 4x Arm® Cortex®-A55 cores running up to 1.2GHz and an Arm Cortex-M33 sub-CPU for RTOS operation. The RZ/G3L supports Linux-based HMI platforms with powerful graphics, hardware video codec functions, high-speed connectivity, and low-power operation for industrial, office, building, medical, and home applications.
The Renesas RZ/G3L MPUs combine a 3D graphics accelerator, H.264 video encode/decode, display interface options, and MIPI CSI camera input, helping designers create feature-rich graphical interfaces. The RZ/G3L Quad Core MPUs also provide PCIe Gen2, dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and separated power domains, enabling high-speed expansion, deterministic communication, reduced standby power, and fast Linux application resume through DDR self-refresh.
The RZ/G3L is part of a scalable, pin-compatible portfolio that includes RZ/G3SE devices, allowing platform reuse across display-equipped HMI systems and headless IoT edge designs. ECC support, a wide operating temperature range, Renesas Secure IP, secure boot, Arm TrustZone®, secure debug, tamper detection, and long-term CIP Linux support help reduce development risk for industrial systems with extended product lifecycles.
