Infineon Technologies CoolGaN™ 650V G5 Bi-Directional Switches (BDS) are an innovative solution in Gallium Nitride (GaN) transistor technology. These switches enable efficient voltage blocking in both directions, making these switches a versatile option for a wide range of applications. The CoolGaN™ BDS monolithically integrates a substrate voltage control circuit through proprietary technology. These Infineon switches are designed to enable the highest power densities for power‑demanding industrial applications. Typical applications include a cycloconverter in a solar μ‑inverter, Vienna-type rectifier in industrial/server SMPS and UPS, T‑type PFC, and an inverter in motor drives.
