Boréas Technologies BOS1931 High-Efficiency Piezo Driver

Boréas Technologies BOS1931 High-Efficiency Piezo Driver is a single-chip piezo actuator driver powered by innovative CapDrive™ technology. Optimized for cooling applications, this efficient driver delivers powerful waveforms up to 190Vpk-pk while operating from a 3V to 5.5V supply voltage range. This makes it ideal for applications requiring pure driving capabilities with minimal power consumption. The BOS1931's streamlined architecture focuses on delivering exceptional driving performance, making it the perfect choice for cooling applications where sensing capabilities are not required. This haptic driver achieves low-distortion waveforms and quiet actuator operations, with all settings adjustable through the digital front end. The data and configuration parameters are easily communicated to the Peizo haptic drivers through the two-wire MIPI I3C interface. The BOS1931 driver is ideal for mobile phones and tablets, portable computers, keyboards and mice, game controllers, wearables, and electronic cooling.

The BOS1931's sophisticated digital interface includes a two-wire MIPI I3C protocol (backward compatible with I2C) and an integrated waveform synthesizer with 2kB RAM memory. These features enable precise thermal control through high-definition waveform generation with minimal communication overhead. The deep FIFO architecture supports efficient streaming of cooling patterns, ensuring optimal thermal management in various applications.

For complex cooling systems requiring multiple actuators, the BOS1931 provides superior synchronization capabilities through its dedicated SYNC pin, ensuring simultaneous actuation within 2μs. The rapid start-up time of under 300μs enables responsive thermal management, while comprehensive safety systems ensure reliable operation in demanding cooling applications.
