Analog Devices MAX149X2EVKIT Transceiver Evaluation Kit is a demonstration and development platform for the MAX14943 Half-Duplex PROFIBUS DP/RS-485 Transceiver. The Analog Devices MAX14943 provides 5000VRMS (60s) of galvanic isolation between the cable side (RS-485 driver/receiver side) and the UART side of the device. Isolation improves communication by breaking ground loops and reduces noise when there are large differences in ground potential between ports. This device allows for robust communication of up to 20Mbps. The MAX14943 includes an integrated 450kHz transformer driver for power transfer to the cable side of the transceiver using an external transformer. An integrated LDO provides a simple and space-efficient architecture for powering the cable side of the IC.The Analog Devices MAX149X2EVKIT Evaluation Kit includes a pre-mounted MAX14943 and can also be used to evaluate the pin-compatible MAX14940, MAX14946, and MAX14949 Transceivers. The Evaluation Kit operates from a single 3.3V supply and features an onboard isolated power supply to power the secondary side of the circuit.
