Analog Devices Inc. EV-ADF4151x Evaluation Boards

Analog Devices EV-ADF4151x Evaluation Boards are demonstration and prototyping boards used to evaluate the features of the ADF4151x PLL Synthesizer. These ADI Evaluation Boards each include a premounted ADF41513, a 100MHz reference (crystal oscillator (XO)), a loop filter, and low noise voltage regulators. 

The EV-ADF41513 Evaluation Boards are offered in two variants:

The EV-ADF41513SD1Z Evaluation Board requires an external Voltage Vontrolled Oscillator (VCO). Subminiature Version A (SMA) connectors are provided on the EV-ADF41513SD1Z to connect the charge pump output (VTUNE) to the tuning input of the VCO and the phase-locked loop (PLL) radio frequency (RF) input (RFIN) to the VCO output.

The EV-ADF41513SD2Z Evaluation Board includes an on-board 10GHz to 20GHz HMC733 VCO.

The EV-ADF41513SD1Z and EV-ADF41513SD2Z Evaluation Boards both require the SDP-S (System Demonstration Platform-Serial) Controller Board (EVAL-SDP-CS1Z), which is not supplied with the kit. The SDP-S Controller Board is based on a USB to Serial Engine providing connectivity to a PC via a USB 2.0 high speed port. The SDP-S Controller Board allows software programming of the ADF41513 device.

The EV-ADF41510SD1Z and EV-ADF41510SD2Z are evaluation boards that can be used to evaluate all the qualities of the ADF41510. The EV-ADF41510SD1Z needs an external VCO, while the EV-ADF41510SD2Z includes an onboard 5 GHz to 10 GHz HMC587 VCO.

The EV-ADF41510SD1Z has Subminiature Version A (SMA) connectors to connect the charge pump output (VTUNE) to the tuning input of the VCO and the phase-locked loop (PLL) radio frequency (RF) input (RFIN) to the VCO output.

Both variants of the evaluation board include the ADF41510 frequency synthesizer, 100 MHz reference (crystal oscillator (XO)), loop filter, USB interface, and low noise voltage regulators.
