Quasi Resonant CoolSET™ Power ICs

Infineon Quasi-Resonant CoolSET™ Power ICs are optimized for off-line switch power supplies in cascode configurations. These Infineon ICs are housed in single packages with two separate chips: one is a controller chip and the other is an HV MOSFET chip. The ICs can achieve lower EMI and higher efficiency with improved digital frequency reduction through the proprietary novel Quasi-Resonant operation. The enhanced Active Burst Mode enables flexibility in standby power range selection. The product has a wide operation range (10.0V to 25.5V) of IC power supply and lower power consumption.

Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS)

Infineon Technologies Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) are a cost-effective line that includes high voltage MOSFETs, control ICs, and Silicon Carbide diodes for PFC and PWM stages, as well as low voltage MOSFETs for synchronous rectification. With these SMPS products Infineon supports the trends towards continuously reducing power consumption. Especially versatile is the new CoolMOS™ 600V C6 family which combines good efficiency with attractive pricing, as does our 3rd generation SiC diodes. For synchronous rectification the OptiMOS™ 3 series offers extremely low on-state resistance and low capacitances. Infineon's new control ICs support topologies such as quasi-resonant flyback and LLC.

Switch Mode Power Supplies - Low Power Topology

Infineon Technologies SMPS - Low Power Topology is used for low  power applications from 100W down to under 1W, where the output needs to be isolated from the input. Its offers cost effectiveness, simplicity, and ease of implementation. Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) Topology is the popular operating mode for low current output and power levels below 50W. The low power Quasi-Resonant (QR) Topology is largely used in low power SMPS applications such as charger, adapter, and auxiliary supply.
