Serial ATA (SATA) Connectors

Amphenol Commercial Serial ATA (SATA) Connectors are designed to support and extend differential signaling from 1.5Gb/s to 12Gb/s. This enables the implementation of low-cost, high-speed, and high-capacity Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). The SATA-compliant connectors feature staggered contact lengths to provide sequential contact mating for hot plugging applications. These connectors offer 7 to 22 positions, vertical and right angle configurations, and high-speed serial interfaces. The stamped clips in these connectors act as connector retainers for robust PCB attachments to provide additional mechanical strength after soldering. The molded guideposts help mating halves to self-align by providing angled lead-ins to compensate for connector misalignments. Typical applications include servers, audio/video storage, interposer cards, storage backplanes, processor and storage blades, HDD carriers, and embedded system boards.
