Mismatched I/O voltages can lead to costly "Oops moments," causing communication errors and bit failures. Adding a voltage translator between ICs can resolve these issues for as little as $0.10, avoiding the need for expensive ASIC or MCU redesigns that cost millions.

FXMAx21 Dual-Supply Voltage Translators

onsemi FXMAx21 Dual-Supply Translators are high performance, configurable dual-voltage supply for bi-directional voltage translation over a wide range of input and output voltage levels. onsemi FXMA2104 is a 4-bit device that includes an I2C buffer/repeater and isolator and is intended for open-drain applications. The FXMAR2104 is a 4-bit device that includes an I2C isolator and is intended for open-drain and push-pull applications. The FXMAR2102 is a 2-bit device that includes an I2C isolator and is designed for I2C applications. Each of these devices are designed so that the A port tracks the VCCA level and the B port tracks the VCCB level. This allows for bi-directional A/B port voltage translation between any two levels from 1.65V to 5.5V.
