onsemi NIS6150/NIV6150 +5 Volt Electronic eFuses are efficient, resettable fuses that can greatly enhance the reliability of a USB application in terms of both catastrophic and shutdown failures. The NIS6150/NIV6150 is designed to buffer the load device from excessive input voltage which can damage sensitive circuits and to protect the input side circuitry from reverse currents.

Electronic Fuses (eFuses)

onsemi Electronic Fuses (eFuses) offer an all-integrated solution providing overcurrent, overvoltage, over-temperature, reverse polarity, and inrush current protection. onsemi eFuses range from 3V up to 12V, supporting a continuous current from 1A up to 12A. The integrated overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage, and inrush current protection, along with the ability to report fault and disable the output through GPIO, make this device suitable for protecting any system and supporting a compact board layout.
