Z8FS040 ZMOTION Detection & Control MCU

Zilog Z8FS040 ZMOTION™ Detection and Control MCU combines the programmability and rich peripheral set of Zilog's Z8 Encore! XP® Flash MCUs with built-in motion detection software algorithms to provide the functions necessary for PIR motion detection applications. These motion detection algorithms comprise Zilog's PIR technology and run in the background while control and status of the PIR Engine is accessed through a software API. As a result, the designer can create application-specific software while taking advantage of Zilog's ZMOTION™ Motion Detection Technology.

ZiLOG Z8 Encore! MC™ 8-bit MCUs

Zilog's Z8 Encore! MC™ 8-bit MCUs are the only 8-bit MCUs with vector control ability. Vector control makes optimal use of motor energy by allowing reduction of energy required for acceleration, in addition to adjusting operating point to maximum efficiency. The feature-rich Z8 Encore! MC™ 8-bit MCUs from Zilog are designed to accommodate more complex and differentiating features that make Z8 Encore! MCUs distinctive from other MCUs. Distinguishing features of the Z8 Encore! MCU product family include 8-channel 2.5µs A/D converter that allows accurate current sampling, soft start feature and advanced analog motor control features to keep the system's audible noise low, op-amp with external gain settings for current amplification and phase current reconstruction, and comparator with programmable shutdown for over-current protection. The Z8 Encore! MC™ motor control family is supported by a comprehensive development kit that contains ZiLOG's ZDS II IDE with a full ANSI C compiler.  Applications that utilize Z8 Encore! MCUs include washing machines, fridges, freezers, pumps, HVAC, conveyor belts, fans/blowers, and medical equipment.
