PTCEL67 High Energy PTC Thermistors

Vishay / BC Components PTCEL67 High Energy PTC Thermistors provide safe, repetitive inrush current limitation and protection in various high-power applications that require a controlled capacitor charge or discharge function. PTCEL67 thermistors can significantly reduce board space and component count by absorbing higher energy levels of up to 340J for a single PTCEL67. The absorbed energy is dissipated in a few minutes so the PTC can cool to ambient temperatures and be ready for another inrush current-limiting operation. These thermistors withstand highly repetitive charge or discharge cycles (>100,000) in automotive or industrial applications. The series operates at high ambient temperatures up to +105°C and features a built-in, self-regulating safety mechanism that prevents the thermistor from overheating in overload situations.
