SMDY1 Automotive Ceramic Disc Safety Capacitors

Vishay / BC Components SMDY1 Automotive Ceramic Disc Safety Capacitors are AEC-Q200 qualified and designed to provide EMI/RFI suppression and filtering in harsh, high-humidity environments. These Vishay surface-mount automotive-grade AC line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors combine a Y1 rating of 500VAC and 1500VDC with a high capacitance of 4700pF. The SMDY1 Automotive series offers high humidity resistance with a Class IIB humidity grade (in accordance with IEC60384-14 annex I) and withstands the 85/85/1000h test. These capacitors provide EMI suppression and primary-secondary coupling on battery chargers for plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles (PHEVs/EVs). The devices are also ideal for use as filter capacitors on AC/DC converters for PHEVs/EVs and hybrid vehicles (HEVs).

SMDY1 AC Line Rated Ceramic Disc Capacitors

Vishay / BCcomponents SMDY1 AC Line Rated Ceramic Disc Safety Capacitors consist of a ceramic disc that is copper plated on both sides and encapsulated in a flame-retardant epoxy resin (UL94V-0). The Class X1 (760VAC), Class Y1 (500VAC) capacitors offer a capacitance range of 470pF to 4700pF while operating in a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. Other features include a Y5U ceramic dielectric, a ±20% capacitance tolerance, and a high humidity class of IIB.

Safety-Rated RFI Capacitors

Vishay Safety-Rated RFI Capacitors include film, ceramic disc, and MLCC devices. EMI suppression film capacitors offer high voltage ratings to 480VAC for across-the-line applications. High-reliability AC line-rated ceramic disc capacitors are available in reduced sizes and automotive-grade versions, with the "biased 85/85" accelerated life test qualification. Vishay Surface-mount MLCCs for safety-certified applications are available with C0G (NP0) and X7R dielectrics while meeting the IEC 60384-14 minimum 4mm creepage standard.
