PCA8539 Automotive LCD Driver

NXP PCA8539 Automotive Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Driver is specifically designed for a high-contrast Vertical Alignment (VA) LCD with multiplex rates up to 1:18. This device generates the drive signals for multiplexed LCDs. These LCDs can contain up to 18 backplanes, 100 segments, and up to 1800 elements. The PCA8539 features an internal charge pump with internal capacitors for on-chip generation of the LCD driving voltage. This device offers a programmable temperature compensation of the LCD supply voltage to ensure optimal and stable contrast. The PCA8539 can be easily connected to a microcontroller with either the two-line I²C-bus or a four-line bidirectional SPI-bus.
