LM5060 High-Side Protection Controllers

Texas Instruments LM5060 High-Side Protection Controllers with Low Quiescent Current offers intelligent control of a high-side N-channel MOSFET during normal on/off transitions and fault conditions. The constant rise time of the output voltage results from the inrush current control. Both an Input UVLO (with hysteresis) and a programmable input OVP are provided, with an enable input offering a remote on or off control. The initial start-up VGS fault detection delay time, the transition VDS fault detection delay time, and the continuous over-current VDS fault detection delay time is programmed from a single capacitor. The MOSFET is latched off until either the enable input, or the UVLO input is toggled low and then high when a detected fault condition persists longer than the allowed fault delay time.

MP5022A 12V Hot Swap Voltage Controller

Monolithic Power Systems MP5022A 12V Hot Swap Voltage Controller is designed to protect circuitry on the output from transients on the input. MP5022A also protects input from undesired shorts and transients coming from the output. The maximum load at the output is current limited through a sense FET topology. The magnitude of the current limit is controlled by a low-power resistor from the ISET pin to ground. An internal charge pump drives the gate of the power device, allowing for a power FET with a very low ON resistance of 3mΩ.

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP5025A Hot-Swap Protection Devices are designed to protect circuitry on its output from transients on its input. These devices also protect the input from undesired shorts and transients coming from the output. The MP5025A devices feature adjustable current limit, damaged MOSFET detection, external soft start, under/over voltage lockout, output current measurement, and thermal protection. These devices operate at 8V to 16V input voltage range, -40°C to 125°C temperature range, -65°C to 155°C storage temperature range, and 145°C shutdown temperature. Typical applications include hot-swap, PC cards, disk drives, servers, networking, and laptops.
