MCP1631 High-speed PWM Controller

Microchip MCP1631 is offered as a high-speed microcontroller (MCU) based pulse width modulator (PWM) controller to help designers develop intelligent power systems. When combined with an easily-programmable MCU, the MCP1631 controls the power system duty cycle providing output voltage or current regulation. The MCU can adjust output voltage or current, switching frequency, and maximum duty cycle. The MCP1631 can charge multiple battery chemistries, including Li-Ion, NiHM, NiCd, and Lead Acid. Designers can use the MCP1631 with a small MCU to develop intelligent LED lighting designs and programmable SEPIC topology voltage and current sources. MCP1631’s integrated design also offers signal conditioning and protection features for battery chargers or constant-current source applications. These features include internal overtemperature protection and undervoltage lockout (UVLO).
