Lightning strikes, inductive load switching, and ESD cause electrical over-stresses associated with the transmission on data lines and electronic circuits. Offered in a variety of surface mount and through-hole circuit board mounting formats, the TVS Diode portfolio includes high peak pulse current and peak pulse power options up to 20kA and 30kW, respectively. Littelfuse TVS Diodes are chosen for the fast response time (low clamping voltage), lower capacitance, and low leakage current. Littelfuse SMCJ TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) 1500W Diodes are surface-mount diodes designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. With a 1500W peak pulse power capability at 10µs x 1000µs waveform, the SMCJ TVS 1500W Diodes typically have a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to VBR minimum. They are ideal for the protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits used in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.
