Intelligent Outlet Solutions

Littelfuse Intelligent Outlet Solutions components feature smart outlets and light dimmers that can be controlled via apps or virtual assistants. The Littelfuse product line includes PICO® II 473 Slo-Blo® Fuses, UltraMOV 14mm Varistors, SJ SCR Switching Thyristors, Thyristor Triacs, IX4340 Gate Drivers, and 650V X2 MOSFETs. The intelligent outlets plug into or replace traditional outlets and allow users to control what is plugged into them through an app or virtual assistant. The smart light dimmers are also remotely controlled. Instead of diverting energy from the light bulb into a resistor, the modern light bulb circuit is switched off many times per second around the fluctuation of household alternating current for efficiency.

SJ SCR Switching Thyristors

Littelfuse SJ Series SCR Switching Thyristors offer designers a wider operating margin than earlier SCRs, making it possible to tolerate insufficient cooling and higher inrush currents at startup. This Littelfuse SCR thyristor series provides a wider operating margin in existing designs and allows smaller heat sinks in new designs. The SJ Series features a robust clip-attach package design that withstands high surges in a choice of five package types. Littelfuse SJ series offers a high junction temperature (TJ) of +150°C, blocking voltage (VDRM) up to 600V, and current ratings from 4A up to 40A. These thyristors offer a gate trigger current (IGT) of 0.2mA in sensitive gate SCR and between 6mA and 40mA in standard gate SCR.

SJxx40x High-Temperature SCR Thyristors

Littelfuse SJxx40x High-Temperature SCR Thyristors are ideal for uni-directional switch applications such as phase control in heating, motor speed controls, as well as AC rectifier and voltage regulators. The SJxx40x SCRs have a low gate current trigger level of 40mA maximum at approximately 1.5V, with a sensitive version of the series having a gate trigger current of 15mA maximum.

Electrical Vehicle DC Fast Chargers

DC charging stations are designed to convert the electrical grid’s AC power into DC power that can then be fed directly into a vehicle’s battery system for fast charging – in 30 minutes or less. Because the conversion from AC to DC power is being done in the charging station, these units can provide higher levels of power (50kW to 350kW and beyond) to the vehicle compared to AC charging stations. Working with tens to hundreds of kilowatts of power, efficient conversion, reliability of the system, and user safety are critical.
