High Reliability Applications

KEMET High Reliability Applications feature organic capacitors that offer specific design rules, manufacturing processes, and screening methods associated with mission-critical segment application requirements. These polymer capacitors are available with failure rate options defined by the KEMET Capacitors (KO-CAP®) Reliability Assessment Method. These mission-critical capacitors are ideal for radar systems, communications, launch systems, satellites, and avionics.

Polymer Hermetic Seal (PHS) Capacitors

KEMET Polymer Hermetic Seal (PHS) Capacitors are tantalum capacitors with axial through hole and SMD mounting options. These capacitors include a conductive organic polymer that offers low ESR and improved capacitance retention at low temperature and high frequency. The PHS capacitors demonstrate a benign failure mode, which removes the breach case that can occur in wet tantalum capacitors. Typical applications include buck/boost converters, power supplies, and hold-up capacitors.
