Because every electronic device requires power, a vast majority of these products utilize a form of power conversion or power supply to deliver the required energy. 

Power Conversion Solutions

KEMET Power Conversion Solutions includes products designed to meet the demand for higher efficiency and higher power density converters. With the adoption of wide bandgap semiconductors (WBG), resonant converters, and wireless charging, there is a growing need for capacitor solutions as an enabling technology. The increasing trends in power converters require capacitor solutions with low ESR, low inductance, high ripple current handling capability, capacitance stability, and high operating temperatures. By utilizing KEMET's base metal electrode (BME) technology and CaZrO3 dielectric materials, engineers now have access to capacitors that will help increase efficiencies, increase power densities, and drive more power.

Industrial High Temp ≥175°C SMD/Leaded Capacitors

KEMET Industrial High-Temperature (≥175°C) SMD and Leaded Capacitors offer solutions for harsh environment applications. With operating temperature ranges up to +260°C, these capacitors are designed to withstand applications where standard commercial and automotive grade capacitors are not suited. KEMET Industrial High-Temperature (≥175°C) SMD and Leaded Capacitors are available in EIA case sizes ranging from 0402 to 4540.

High Voltage C0G MLCCs (Commercial & Auto Grade)

KEMET High Voltage Surface Mount MLCCs in C0G dielectric are temperature compensating and suited for resonant circuit applications or where Q and stability of capacitance characteristics are required. C0G exhibits no change in capacitance with respect to voltage and time and boasts a negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. Capacitance change is limited to ±30ppm/°C from -55°C to +125°C, and these devices offer low ESR at high frequencies and fine conventional use as filters or snubbers in switching power supplies, lighting ballasts, etc. Commercial-grade and automotive-grade devices that meet AEC-Q200 qualifications are available. These capacitors from KEMET are lead (PB)-free, RoHS, and REACH compliant without exemption.

High CV Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs)

KEMET High CV Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) are a preferred capacitance solution, offering tremendous performance, reliability, and cost advantages for circuit designers. Ceramics are non-polar devices that offer unsurpassed volumetric efficiency, delivering high capacitance in small package sizes. Available in a wide range of sizes, KEMET High CV MLCCs offer very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), exhibit excellent high-frequency characteristics, and are very reliable. MLCCs are monolithic devices that consist of laminated layers of specially formulated ceramic dielectric materials interspersed with a metal electrode system. The layered formation is then fired at a high temperature to produce a sintered and volumetrically efficient capacitance device. A conductive termination barrier system is integrated into the exposed ends of the chip to complete the connection. 

HV-HT High-Voltage High-Temperature MLCCs

​KEMET HV-HT High-Voltage High-Temperature 200°C Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) are constructed of a robust and proprietary base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system that performs in extreme temperatures. These surface-mountable C0G capacitors feature a 200°C maximum operating temperature and are specifically designed to withstand harsh industrial environments such as oil exploration and automotive / avionics engine compartment circuitry. The HV-HT series is available in an EIA case size range from 0805 to 4540, providing a maximum capacitance of 150nF with voltages up to 2000V. KEMET HV-HT High-Voltage High-Temperature MLCCs are 100% lead free, RoHS compliant, and REACH compliant without exemptions. 

High Temperature ≥150°C Capacitors

KEMET High Temperature (≥150°C) Capacitors are available in a wide variety of form factors, dielectrics, case sizes, and capacitance values for commercial, automotive, and industrial applications. These high-temperature ceramic solutions go up to +260°C. KEMET’s high-temperature platform includes surface-mount and leaded options, which can also have flex termination and high voltage features to provide a solution for every application type.

High Temperature 200°C C0G Multilayer Ceramic Caps

KEMET High Temperature 200°C C0G Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors feature a robust and proprietary base-metal dielectric system that offers industry-leading performance relative to capacitance and case size combined with capacitance stability at extreme temperatures up to +200°C. The capacitors exhibit low ESR at high frequencies and offer greater volumetric efficiency over competitive high-temperature precious metal electrode (PME) and BME ceramic capacitor devices. This new platform promotes downsizing opportunities of existing high-temperature C0G technology and offers replacements for existing X7R/BX/BR technologies. The KEMET High-Temperature 200°C C0G Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors are available in standard EIA case sizes 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, and 1812.
