Commercial & Automotive KPS High-Voltage MLCCs

KEMET Commercial and Automotive High-Voltage MLCCs utilize a proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two multilayer ceramic chip capacitors into a single compact surface-mount package. The attached lead frame mechanically isolates the capacitor(s) from the printed circuit board (PCB), providing advanced mechanical and thermal stress performance. Isolation also addresses concerns for audible microphonic noise that may occur when a bias voltage is applied. A two-chip stack offers up to double the capacitance in the same or smaller design footprint compared to traditional surface-mount MLCC devices.

KPS L Series SnPb Termination X7R SMD MLCCs

KEMET KPS L Series SnPb Termination X7R SMD MLCCs utilize a proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two MLCCs into a single compact SMD package. The attached lead frame mechanically isolates the capacitors from the printed circuit board. This offers advanced mechanical and thermal stress performance. Audible, microphonic noise that may occur when a bias voltage is applied is addressed through isolation. A two-chip stack offers up to twice the capacitance in the same or smaller design footprint when compared to traditional surface-mount MLCC devices. Applications for KEMET KPS L Series SnPb Termination X7R SMD MLCCs include switch-mode power supplies, high-voltage coupling and DC blocking, lighting ballasts, voltage multiplier circuits, smoothing circuits, and much more.

KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs

KEMET KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs offer a 10VDC to 630VDC voltage range, up to 47µF capacitance, and a reliable, robust termination system. These KEMET Power Solutions (KPS) stacked capacitors utilize proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two multilayer ceramic chip capacitors into a single compact surface-mount package. KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs are ideal for commercial applications, and some meet AEC-Q200 qualifications.

High-Voltage ≥500V Capacitors

KEMET High-Voltage ≥500V Capacitors are offered in a variety of form factors, case sizes, dielectrics, and capacitance values. These devices feature MLCC EIA case sizes from 0603 to 6560 and voltage ratings from 500VDC to 10,000VDC. High CV Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs)

KEMET High CV Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) are a preferred capacitance solution, offering tremendous performance, reliability, and cost advantages for circuit designers. Ceramics are non-polar devices that offer unsurpassed volumetric efficiency, delivering high capacitance in small package sizes. Available in a wide range of sizes, KEMET High CV MLCCs offer very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), exhibit excellent high-frequency characteristics, and are very reliable. MLCCs are monolithic devices that consist of laminated layers of specially formulated ceramic dielectric materials interspersed with a metal electrode system. The layered formation is then fired at a high temperature to produce a sintered and volumetrically efficient capacitance device. A conductive termination barrier system is integrated into the exposed ends of the chip to complete the connection. 

Commercial & Automotive Flex Mitigation Solutions

KEMET Commercial and Automotive Flex Mitigation Solutions offer a variety of flex mitigation solutions designed to reduce the risk of flex cracks. Flexible termination (FT-CAP) multilayer ceramic capacitors incorporate a unique, flexible termination system that is integrated with the KEMET standard termination materials. A conductive silver epoxy is utilized between the base metal and nickel barrier layers of KEMET’s standard termination system in order to establish pliability while maintaining terminal strength, solderability, and electrical performance.

High Voltage KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs

KEMET High Voltage KPS Flex Mitigation MLCCs offer ±10% and ±20% capacitance tolerances, 630VDC maximum voltage, and are available in an EIA 2220 case size. These KEMET Power Solutions (KPS) stacked capacitors utilize a proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two multilayer ceramic chip capacitors into a single compact surface-mount package. These MLCCs are ideal for DC blocking, lighting ballasts, power supplies, and DC/DC converters.
