Multilayer Varistors (MLVs)

TDK Multilayer Varistors (MLVs) are SMD disk varistors from EPCOS that feature 12V and 24V supply systems and high-energy absorption capability in an SMD plastic package. These varistors offer no temperature derating up to 85°C, RoHS compatibility, suitability for lead-free soldering, UL approval, and PSpice simulation modeling for different pulses. TDK Multilayer Varistors are ideally suited for engine management, airbag, control units, electrohydraulic brake, ABS/ESP, sunroof load-dump protection, and jump-start protection in automotive applications.

Automotive Battery Management System Solutions

EPCOS / TDK Automotive Battery Management System Solutions feature AEC-Q200 qualification and include chip NTCs, chip varistors, chip PTCs, and GFCs. The chip positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of the battery management system offers lead-free tinned termination, a miniaturized size, and short response times. The gas-filled contactors (GFC) operate up to 500A and 1200V with bipolar connections. EPCOS / TDK Automotive Battery Management System Solutions are ideal for DC fast-charge stations, overcurrent protection, and renewable energy storage systems. 

UL-Rated CTVS Varistors

EPCOS / TDK UL-Rated CTVS Varistors withstand extensive surge and overvoltage tests and have UL 1449 approval (UL file E481997) for surge protective devices. These products enable protection against severe transient overvoltage and high surge currents, including 8/20μs pulses with peak currents up to 6kA and 10/700μs pulses up to 45A. This high surge series is predominantly used in industrial applications such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, automation, production and control, and protection switches. EPCOS / TDK UL-Rated CTVS Varistors are also used in smart home and safety applications (fire alarms, access control, and monitoring systems) as well as in telecommunications applications, including base stations, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and IP cameras.
