AEDL5xxx/981x Encoders

Broadcom/Avago AEDL5xxx/981x Series Encoders are high performance three channel optical incremental encoders offering line driver outputs. The AEDL5xxx series are high-resolution kit encoders whereas AEDL981x series are module encoders. These encoders contains: LED source with lensAn ASIC with integrated photo detector arraysLED current regulationInterpolator and output driver circuitryAnd a code wheel which rotates between the emitter and detector ASIC. The outputs of both series encoders are two square waves in a quadrature. The AEDL5xxx series utilizes a film code wheel allowing for a resolution to 5000 CPR. The line output options offer enhanced performance in an electronically noisy environment or in long distance drive.
