ACPL-K378 Voltage/Current Detector Optocouplers

Broadcom ACPL-K378 Isolated Voltage/Current Detector Optocouplers come with adjustable upper and lower thresholds. The devices utilize threshold-sensing input buffer ICs that permit control of threshold levels over a wide range of input voltages with a single external resistor. The input buffer incorporates several features, including switching immunity, hysteresis for enhanced noise immunity, and a diode bridge for easy use with internal clamping diodes and AC input signals. This feature protects the buffer and LED from a wide range of overvoltage and overcurrent transients. Variations in optical coupling from the LED to the detector do not affect the threshold levels because threshold sensing is done before driving the LED.

Optocouplers

Broadcom Optocouplers provide a reliable isolation solution in applications such as variable-speed drives, electric vehicles, induction cookers, and solar inverters. The devices are the preferred solution for insulation and isolation. The Broadcom Optocouplers feature isolation amplifier (iso-amps) products with higher performance and smaller packages. Broadcom Optocouplers are used in industrial networking systems and enable electrical circuits and highly diverse voltage levels to operate together. The devices can be coupled while remaining electrically isolated or galvanically separated. The products also guarantee error-free data transmission, maintain data integrity, and protect interconnected equipment for high-speed Fieldbus communications. Optocouplers are used in industrial communication applications, including industrial input-output systems, sensors and temperature control systems, power supplies and regulation systems, electric motor control and drive systems, instrumentation, and medical systems.
