TISP4xxxM3BJ Overvoltage Protectors

Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ Overvoltage Protector Series is a range of devices designed to limit overvoltages on telephone lines. The Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ devices are symmetrical voltage-triggered bidirectional thyristors that provide 2-point protection against overvoltages normally caused by AC power systems or lightning flash disturbances. When the voltage rises to the breakover level, these Bourns overvoltage protectors will clamp and switch into a low-voltage on state, which causes the current resulting from the overvoltage to be safely diverted through the device. The high crowbar holding current helps prevent DC latch-up as the diverted current subsides. The 2-point protection design makes the Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ overvoltage protector well-suited for 2-wire telecommunication equipment. Combinations of devices can be used for multi-point protection.

Circuit Protection Devices

Bourns manufactures and supplies a wide range of circuit protection technologies, including fuses, PTC thermistors, varistors, GDTs, resettable thermal cut-offs, surge protection devices, hybrid protectors, discrete semiconductor solutions, and more. Reliable surge protection is a critical design consideration to help ensure operational reliability of consumer electronics, industrial/communication equipment, automotive, battery charging, energy storage infrastructure, and renewable energy harvesting ecosystems.

TISP Thyristor Overvoltage Protectors

Bourns TISP® Thyristor Surge Protectors are surge protective devices with characteristics very different than the normal SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) and TRIAC (Triode for AC Control) type thyristors. Thyristor Surge Protector Device current parameters cover a range from a few nanoamps to hundreds of amps. A similar situation exists for thyristor SPD voltages, where there can be a wide range from several volts to hundreds. Bourns TISP Thyristor Surge Protectors are specially designed to provide protection for telecommunications equipment in instances where high voltages occur as a result of lightning strikes, power line crosses, or a/c power surges.

Power Supply Design Solutions

Bourns offers components for linear and switch mode power supplies that provide high reliability performance in smaller, more compact designs. Bourns is continually achieving improvements in miniaturization and packaging with circuit protection, circuit conditioning, and position control products. Bourns delivers the standards-based solutions OEMs can rely on to fulfill ongoing technical demands.
