Silent Switcher® Solutions for EMI Compliance

Analog Devices Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) compliance is often mandatory and a critical design challenge for medical, automotive, test, and measurement equipment manufacturers. For example, if a device fails EMI compliance, it not only creates a long design cycle, it also increases cost as a result of re-design and re-evaluation for EMI compliance. To overcome these challenges, Analog Devices offers Silent Switcher® Architecture which minimizes the risk of problems caused by EMI, making µModule® Regulators and Discrete DC-DC ideal for noise-sensitive applications.

LT86xx High-Voltage Buck Regulators

Linear Technology/Analog Devices LT86xx High-Voltage Synchronous Buck Regulators product line features high-performance step-down buck switching regulator ICs. The LT86xx High-Voltage Buck Regulators work from input voltages of 3V up to 100V+, with switching frequencies of up to 4MHz, and high-efficiency operation of up to 96%.

LT86x Synchronous Step-Down Silent Switchers

Analog Devices LT86xx Synchronous Step-Down Regulators feature Silent Switcher® architecture designed to minimize EMI/EMC emissions while delivering high efficiency at frequencies up to 3MHz. Assembled in a 3mm × 4mm QFN package, the monolithic construction with integrated power switches and the inclusion of all necessary circuitry yields a solution with a minimal PCB footprint. An ultra-low 2.5µA quiescent current enables applications requiring the highest efficiency at very small load currents. The transient response remains excellent and output voltage ripple is below 10mVP-P at any load, from zero to full current.

LT8640/LT8640-1 Step-Down Regulators

Analog Devices Inc. LT8640/LT8640-1 Step-Down Regulators feature Silent Switcher architecture designed to minimize EMI/EMC emissions while delivering high efficiency at frequencies up to 3MHz. An ultralow 2.5µA quiescent current—with the output in full regulation—enables applications requiring the highest efficiency at very small load currents. The LT8640/LT8640-1 allows high VIN to low VOUT conversion at high frequency with a fast minimum top switch on-time of 30ns. The SYNC/MODE pin selects between Burst Mode operation, spread spectrum mode, synchronization to an external clock, and either pulse-skipping (LT8640) or forced continuous mode (LT8640-1).
