Data Converters

Analog Devices Inc. Data Converters are a portfolio of data converters that are unmatched in ability and deliver performance with value. The converters provide accurate and reliable conversion for a range of applications. Typical applications include industrial automation, programmable logic controllers, optical transceivers, data acquisition, and more.

AD7688 16-Bit Differential PulSAR® ADCs

Analog Devices AD7688 16-Bit Differential PulSAR® Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) are designed as 500kSPS, charge redistribution successive-approximation ADCs operating from a single 5VDD power supply. Featuring very low power and high-speed performance, these 16-Bit sampling ADCs with no missing codes includes an internal conversion clock and a versatile serial interface port. AD7688 ADCs offer low noise, wide bandwidth, and a very short aperture delay track/hold circuit. On the CNV rising edge, AD7688 samples the voltage difference between IN+ and IN- pins. The voltages on these pins usually swing in opposite phase between 0V to REF. The SPI compatible serial interface enables designers to "Daisy chain" several ADCs on a single 3 wire bus and provides an optional Busy indicator. AD7688 ADCs are compatible with 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, or 5V logic using the separate supply VIO. Available in a 10-lead µSOIC or 10-lead QFN (Chip Scale package), AD7688 ADCs are well-suited for battery powered equipment, medical instruments, mobile communications, personal digital assistants, data acquisition, instrumentation, and process control applications.
