Maxim Integrated's V.22 Single Chip Modems integrate a data pump, controller, and analog front end in a 3.3V device with a powerful "AT" command host interface. The device is a "one chip fits all" solution for embedded systems that reduces external component count and cost by incorporating features such as parallel phone detect, line-in-use, and ring detection in software without requiring additional components. The modems are pin compatible with Maxim Integrated's 73M2901CL hard modem and 73M1903 soft modem AFE. The devices are ideal for set-top boxes, point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines, utility meters, vending machines, and smart card readers.
